Then apply here for the International Student Research Club!
The research club is open to applicants from any field of study. However, in the event of a high number of applicants, preference will be given to students from challenge-related study fields, as indicated below. The Student Research Club provides a unique opportunity to present your solution to the company, win a prize, and travel to their headquarters to gain further insight into their operations.
How does it work?
• Apply until the 26th of September 2025 - here
• As soon as we receive your application, you will be assigned to an interdisciplinary Research Club made up of EUNICE students at Bachelor, Master or PhD level.
• In your Research Club, you will work virtually on the challenge posed by the German industrial park and have until the end of October 2025 to prepare a short presentation of 5 minutes, a so-called pitch, with your solution to the proposed problem. (Find below the guidelines for the pitch)
• Present your pitch to the company at the end of October 2025
• The company decides on the winning research club until 29th of October 2025
• The winning club will be invited to work on the challenge from 10 - 14 November 2025 at the German industrial park's co-working space where you will have the exclusive opportunity to get to know the company from the inside.
We are looking for an interdisciplinary team that can cover the following aspects of problem solving:
• Economic aspects
• Sociological (human resource aspects)
• Urban planning (architecture)
• Natural and engineering aspects
• Psychology
Include the following aspects in your pitch:
• Technical and engineering issues arising from the geographic location of the German companies situated in the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park (ISP), integration issues and the motivation to permanently stay in the region
For the winning research club we offer:
• International and interdisciplinary collaboration on a real current challenge for a regional industrial park in Germany
• On-site work at the German industrial park's co-working space in the Schwarze Pumpe industrial park (ISP)
• Travel and accommodation costs covered – rooms in the BTU guesthouse are reserved
• It is anticipated that the price will be offered by way of a special excursion to Welzow's open-cast mine (courtesy of the ISP and to be confirmed).
