EAG2024: Bringing students together through sport

From October 21st to 25th, Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) hosted the 2024 EUNICE Alliance Games, marking the first time this annual sporting event took place in France. Now in its fourth edition, the EUNICE Alliance Games brought together students from the ten member universities of the EUNICE alliance, creating an unforgettable week of international sports competition, cultural exchange, and new friendships.

This year’s games featured mixed-gender tournaments in volleyball and basketball, adding an exciting new dimension to the alliance’s traditional competition format. More than 80 student athletes represented their universities with pride and determination in both tournaments, embodying the spirit of EUNICE: unity, diversity, and European cooperation.

Beyond the courts, the EUNICE Alliance Games provided students with opportunities to explore Valenciennes and experience French culture through city tours and visits to significant local landmarks. These experiences fostered deeper cultural understanding and connections, making the week as enriching socially and culturally as it was competitive.
